First things first! I don't wanna take credit for the game whatsoever! This is and was Kennys original idea

That said! Some people were exciting to get it started so I just felt the responsibility to make it done!

The building (built by our favorite Italian Stef) for the game is located at spawn right by the portalhub.
Inside you will find signs with players participating as well as their coords for their "Potatochest".

There is a chest in the middle containing 2 books! One is for the rules/guides and the other is for the coords to each players chest.
Please read the rules so you are clear on how the game works.
If you bring the CCC (Chest Coords Central) book with you to find a players chest DON'T forget to bring it back in mint condition But I recommend to write it down on a piece of paper so you don't risk losing it.

Hot Potato is a game where anyone can participating. The Basic rule is simple. If your chest contains the "Hot Potato" you have a certain time limit to move it to another players chest located at their base.

The coordinates for each players chest is written on the wall inside the "Hot Potato" building at spawn, and also in the CCC (Chest Coords Central) book.
Should a player move his or hers chest they have to change the coords in the book and on sign.

When you give a player the "Hot Potato" you have to make a post in this thread stating who you gave it to. That player then has 24 hours to move it to another player. Should you fail to move it within the time you have to pay 1 diamond to the player that placed the "Hot Potato".
A player that just had the "Hot Potato" will be immune for 48 hours (2 days) before s/he can have it again.

Not in the game? Fear not.

Place a chest on top of a redstonelamp with a lever. Write down the coordinates and place a sign inside the "Hot Potato" building in the same style as the others.
That's it. You are in the game!

Perhaps if you want to do multiple potatoes, you should change immunity to "you can't give it back to the person you got it from"

Did not think about that at all with the immunity, thnx for pointing that out. I will think about how to do that!
But what about 12 hours instead of 24 hours! How does that sound?

It would be better. Still, thinking about the multiple time-zones we're playing with, a 12h countdown may be tricky.

An important note: it will no longer be possible to use a forum thread to declare who has taken the potato ownership, if there are multiple ones (can you figure the mess with it?). Anyway, it wont be a problem for me, becouse it's to easy to just come check the forum. You should log in and personally go check your chest for potato presence.

Just suggesting:
- Leave a sign nearby the chest with a time log?
- Have a book to come along each potato to have its movement history fully logged?
- rename the game "the cursed book" so the subject may be the book itself and we get rid of the potato? (lol) (I'm not going to rebuild a giant floating book in place of the potato-zeppelin, just saying)

Didn't Nathan said that 12 hours is too short? If you place the Hot Potato into my chest when it's 3am my time, I don't be able to have much time to move the hot potato when I get home from work.

ya same here that last game i lost the potato was put in my chest 1 AM my time and i wan't able to do anything about it till 5PM the next day by than the game was over. 24H should be the minimum might want to up the time.

I agree that a time-lapse of 12 hours is somewhat short for less active members and multiple potatoes would indeed create a mess.

Based on the feedback this is how the next game will be.

Elimination: If you fail to move the potato within the time (24 hours) you have to put in 1 diamond in the potato chest and you are eliminated until next game.
When only 2 players remains the time limit is decreased to 12 hours.
The player that wins gets the diamonds

The same basic rules and guidelines applies which can be found in this thread and in the potatobuilding.
Gonna do the randomizer later tonight and then the game is on!

I know I am not the only one frustrated with the spam arguments and other discussion in the 'Hot Potato #2' post. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the other post is ONLY for messages such as '_____ Now has the potato, you have 24 hours!'

If he fails to move it just use a randomizer to select 1 of the remaining players and move the potato from his chest to the next player =)

The people who haven't paid have until, Saturday to pay forward what they owe, some of you have been out over a week and have not paid yet, when others have paid straight away, if you don't pay by Saturday fines are going to be issued on top of the 1 diamond to the chest, its a diamond I give til Saturday because you will all be on for Uhc, either pay or I will politely ask Nathan or Lu to take it by force, I didn't want it to come to this but, this is getting ridiculous.

IMPORTANT GAME CHANGE!!!!!!

The timelimit is now changed to 12 hours instead of 24 to speed up the game!

I payed Diamond in hot potato building at spawn .

Bumping just so nobody can say they weren't warned about the 12 hour change. TIME TO MOVE THE POTATO IS NOW 12 HOURS!!!!!

Since it's 12 hours, I believe Username just lost the game...right? Or does he still goes by the 24 hours rule?
