First topic message reminder :

Hello everyone.
As everyone might have noticed already there is a lot of useless loaded chunks in NamelessCraft map.
As useless I mean that there's chunks that no one lives on, nor uses them.

People over-exaggerated and explored too much chunks in our world, without even thinking that would cause it too lag or the file size would be much bigger.
Right now the size of our world is 3.6GB (too much isn't it?) and dynmap is causing the server having too much lag, so we will disable it until we get this solved.

Me and Nathan were thinking that we could unload the chunks of our map, but it's not possible in game, we will have to use a software called MCedit to unload them. And then upload them back to the host, that would take a few hours! =P
But either way, it would help alot with lag and the file size.

Please give us your opinion and discuss about this.





So this is the graphs of the chunks I am thinking to unload from our map.
The roads between the fake spawn and original spawn are kinda useless in my opinion, because no one uses them at all, everyone uses the nether for travelling.
Also, if anyone knows if there's buildings in those chunks, please let me know.
I will make sure if there's nothing there anyway, when travelling with mcedit.

Everyone agrees with this? Give me your opinions.

What do you mean by okay? Even if we delete it, it will be there anyway.
It's actually a good idea to unload it, since in 1.6 the loots will be better.

Even the logo?   but well, we aren't thinking about unloading the arena, but we can unload the terrain around it.

Make sure you take all of the loot from Dialgia136's place because there could be diamonds or something good that you can give out.

Oh, and I did an unload test, with the backup I made today, (the lands I've marked) and the world decreased from 3.33GB to 1.70GB, that's pretty crazy!

That is crazy! It's like you cut the world in half!

Yep. Basically half of the world are pathes XD

So what does the world look like now?

Yea, but that would require alot of study and time, which I don't have it right now.

I think it will help alot. I will try to look at some chunks that I can unload as well if I have some time.

It sounds okay to me. How long it's going to take?

Unloading chunks would take max 30minutes to 1 hour. Depends if I am busy doing other stuff or no.
Unloading 100k chunks takes only 8 minutes, so that's not the problem.
The problem would be uploading, but as it will be half-sized, would take 3/4 hours to upload?

Oh sorry, we didn't do this yet because people started to log and I didn't have the courage to turn it off.
But we updated to 1.6.2 since people were excited about it.

Yep. I will do the chunk unloader when changing host (again) =_=

As most of you might know, I am going to unload many NamelessCraft world chunks tomorrow.

We knew we had to change host, it's why we decided to do the chunk unloading when then host change, simply because I had to upload the "deleted chunk" world anyway, so it was kinda bad if I uploaded the world twice!
So it's 2 actions in 1!

We will also add some new mob rule.
We apologize in advance, but seeing as people kept abusing mobs we definitely need to add a rule.

There will be also a new moderator! We are still thinking who it will be, we ask people to not be sad if you aren't going to be chosen.

And therefore, the server will be offline most of the time. Sorry about this as well.
We really hope that the lag will decease, or at least not being pathetic like it is right now.
