For a while, I been wanting to build a spleef arena. for those who don't know what Spleef is. Spleef is a game where two or more players try to dig under each others feet to make them fall. The arena's floor is normally made of snow blocks, under the arena is normally lava or a bottomless pit. The last person in the arena is the winner.

Personally, I think that lava and a bottomless pit is unfair. Making a bottomless pit would take forever, and I don't like messing with lava since it's hard to get rid of the current scares. Instead of those two, water will be underneath since it's fair and safe.

I never made a spleef arena before, so this is my first time making one. But I have an idea on what it looks like.

Anyways, here's the progress of today. Not much happened since I was busy making the tunnel's floor and what will be the walls. After a while looking around the map, I found a location that's south of my place. It's at an ocean, I don't want to build it near anyone's builds since the arena needs space and I don't want to get the Nether portal connections messed up.

After walking to the area for half a Minecraft day, I came to the ocean and hopped into a boat to look for a good spot to place the portal. Once I found a spot, I made a dirt pillar that's like around 20 blocks high and made a temporary platform for the Nether portal. Once the portal had been made, I divided the portal's correndents by 8 and wrote down where it needs to be in the Nether.

I gathered what I need and started looking around for a good spot to make the tunnel. It's tough cause there's not much space at the hub and and I don't want to run into the other tunnels. I found the hole at the back of the hub and didn't know who it belongs to. The tunnel never had a sign saying what the hole it for, but I started thinking that it's a good spot, so I started making the tunnel and place the sign. The tunnel is 4 blocks wide.

As you can see, the tunnel's floor is made of snow blocks, it suppose to represent the Spleef arena's floor since it's also made of snow blocks. But the ones in the tunnel is not for digging. As you can see, it needs to turn around so it can go in the right direction. It turns 3 times.

Ghasts always seems to get in the way and keeping me from working on the tunnel.

Tunnels from closest to furthest are F6's tunnel, my tunnel, and the tunnel that leads to the Blaze farm.

I made a little snow farm when I need to get more snow., it uses up shovels very quickly.

Good Work! I've been wanting a Spleef arena for ages! That hole in the Hub was made by McEric I believe? He never puts a sign or seems to make any progress with it. I filled it in once, but he made the hole again, but didn't connect it to anything...

I'm glad you are putting it to good use. He can always connect his tunnel to yours if he ever wants to do it properly!

I believe he doesn't even play anymore lol.

That's what I thought, so I closed up the hole. But recently I noticed he reopened it, and did a little bit of work on that platform outside it? Not sure how long ago that was though...

That's the plan at the start. The spleef arena is far away from everyone, so I'm making the tunnel to the Spleef arena in order to order to get it easily.

Not much happened as I make the tunnel. When I started today's tunnel construction, I was around 100 blocks away from reaching where the portal needs to be.

I ran into a wall, time to mine it out to get there. At lease I don't have to worry about Ghasts too much.

After a little bit of mining, I found a way out and saw I was a few blocks above the tunnel. I don't know how I managed to get there.....I just brushed it off and jumped down to continue on the tunnel.

A Ghast spawned while I was mining down the all for the tunnel, so I quickly ran to the enderchest and grabbed my looting 3 diamond sword to kill it while it was stuck.

Once I killed the Ghast, it gave me 4 Ghast tears.

Pigmen just love being in the way while you're mining or trying to fix your mistakes.

Finally got where the portal needs to be. Now to finish the floor and what will be the walls. At the end of the tunnel, I place a wall so it can look nice.

Once that's taken care of, I started making the ceiling bigger so I can add the tunnel's ceiling later.

Some time ago while making the tunnel, I blocked a lava fall and thought else of it, thinking I took out the source. But i was wrong when I hit the the block I used and mined it out, now lava spilled everywhere.[Only admins are allowed to see this image]

I made the ceiling higher, it looks a little messy at the moment, but it'll be covered up by the real ceiling by nether brick. I also need a lot of netherrack to do it, so it's helpful in both ways.

I made the back wall bigger and made the nether portal. Once I lit the portal, I hopped that it works the way I wanted it to work even though it should.

After going through the portal, I made it through the portal I made the day before, it was a success! Now it's time to get working on the walls

There's still much more to come, so stay tune! I'm going to make a donation chest tomorrow, so donations are welcome. I need glass, quartz slabs and blocks to reduce he spawn rate in the tunnel, nether brick, stone brick, and a beacon.

I do enjoy Screenshots, but maybe a few less Kirby? No offence, but all the ones of Nether rack look the same to me! lol. Maybe just choose the most interesting Screen shots to post? Just my opinion...

I have a look at your tunnel yesterday though, and you've done a grea job! Maybe use some Quartz stairs though, for those few blocks you have to jump up? They should blend in nicely with the snow. I think I have some if you want them?

Okay, I'll post less pictures until I see more interesting ones.

I need a lot of quartz to half slab the tunnel except where the tracks go so it'll reduce the spawn rate and keep Ghasts from spawning. Stairs will look good on the walls, it'll look like snow piles. I'm planing to add Nether brick fencing on the sides of the tunnel that faces the hub so you can look at the hub as you go by. The windows will be replaced by normal Nether brick when there's nothing to see. Nethebrick will be nice even though I have a cave at my portal that I can mine out.

Not much was done with the Spleef arena's tunnel because I spend several hours smelting Nether rack. Now I know Spine's pain.....

I placed a donation chest at the start of the Spleef arena's tunnel, so the donations are always welcome. I need quartz to half slab the tunnel's floor except where the tracks will be. Donating glass, nether brick, snow blocks, and stone bricks will also be helpful.

I added nether brick fences for windows on the sides of the walls where you can see the Nether Hub and the path to the village. And walls where there's just a wall to keep this pattern.

I only have a little more then a stack of quartz at home. I'm thinking about going quartz hunting once the tunnel's ceiling is finished. While I was looking for the 4 diamonds that Carter said that I can have back (PMed him), I found a double chest full of quartz ore and another chest of quartz stuff. I left those chests alone because I don't want to get in trouble. I did give up on those 4 diamonds.

Not much happened since it took me several days to work on the tunnel's ceiling and family came over on Wednesday to watch my brother's high school graduation and going for for dinner. So real life slowed down the progress along with netherrack smelting and tool repairs.

Last night, I completed the tunnel's ceiling. Now it's safe from Ghasts and Ghast prof. I didn't post it today cause I only took one picture and not enough progress to show you guys. Now I have more pictures since more progress was done.

The next day, I started placing tracks down along the tunnel.

Once that's done, I placed levers on the same block as the powered rails are on and covered them with half slabs so it can be hidden. Buttons where then added at each end of the track.

Quartz half slabs had been added to reduce the spawn rate for zombie pigmen. Most other mobs won't be able to spawn in the tunnel.

Once the tunnel have been half slabbed, I added train stations at each end of the tunnel. The chests are empty at the moment.

I'm very proud about the tunnel, and it took a long time to make! Now it's time to work on the spleef arena.
